Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX – Specs and Benchmark
Intel launched the Core Ultra 9 285HX in January 2025, a powerful mobile processor with 24 cores. It is based on the Arrow Lake-HX architecture and BGA 2114 socket. The processor operates at a default clock speed of 2.8 GHz with 36 MB L3 cache, which is expandable up to 5.5 GHz.
This chip is manufactured by TSMC on a 3nm production node and has 17,800 million transistors. This processor supports unlocked multiplier for overclocking, making it easy to customize. Support for DDR5 memory (6400 MT/s) and ECC memory as well as PCI-Express Gen 5 connection makes it suitable for mission-critical systems.
Intel delivers a processor with an integrated graphics engine called Arc Xe-LPG Graphics 64EU. With hardware virtualization and IOMMU virtualization or PCIe passthrough support, it suits virtual machine application best. It does support Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) as well as AVX2 but leaves out AVX-512 support.
The Core Ultra 9 285HX performance and functionality have made it very suitable for most modern high end laptops and workstations.
