NuPhy Kick75: World’s first mechanical keyboard to support high and low-profile switches, pre-orders open

If you use a mechanical keyboard, then you must have felt the difference between a low-profile and a full-height keyboard. But what if the same keyboard supports both types of switches? NuPhy has answered this question by launching its new keyboard Kick75 , which is the world’s first hybrid-profile mechanical keyboard .

This means that you can use it as a low-profile keyboard and can also convert it into a full-height mechanical keyboard when needed. No such keyboard has come in the market before, so it has become a topic of discussion among technology lovers

What is special in NuPhy Kick75?

There are three big features that make the NuPhy Kick75 special :

1. Support for both high and low-profile switches

Till now the mechanical keyboards available in the market were either low-profile (i.e. thin and light) or full-height mechanical (with thick and high keys) . But Kick75 supports both of them simultaneously.

If you need to type quickly and want a lightweight keyboard, you can keep it in low-profile mode . On the other hand, if you need a full-height keyboard for gaming or heavy typing, you can easily change it to full-height mode .

2. Different switch and keycap options

You get four types of switches in this keyboard :

  • Red Switches – These are linear switches, which are silent and smooth.
  • Brown Switches – Switches with a light tactile feel, which is good for typing.
  • Silver Switches – These are fast response switches specially designed for gaming.
  • Blush Switches – These are long travel linear switches that have a different pressing experience.

Apart from this, it comes with the option of nSA low-profile keycaps and mSA high-profile keycaps , allowing you to customize your typing experience.

3. Connectivity and Battery Backup

It has connectivity options like USB Type-C, Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz wireless , so you can use it in both wired and wireless mode.

Talking about battery backup, this keyboard comes in two different versions:

  • QMK/VIA Version – It has a 4,000mAh battery that will last for 294 hours with the RGB lights off and 60 hours with the lights on .
  • NuPhyIO version – This has a 2,500mAh battery , which offers slightly less battery life.
