AMD Ryzen 5 7400F – Specs and Benchmarks
AMD has launched the Ryzen 5 7400F 6-core desktop processor in January 2025 at an MSRP of $229. It is part of the Ryzen 5 lineup, which uses Socket AM5 and Zen 4 (Raphael) architecture. Due to Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT), the processor has 12 threads, which effectively doubles the core-count.
The Ryzen 5 7400F processor contains 32 MB L3 cache and features a default clock speed of 3.7 GHz. This is an overclockable chip that reaches speeds of up to 4.7 GHz. Based on the 5 nm production node, the TSMC’s foundry is its manufacturer, featuring a 65 W TDP., this processor offers performance with energy efficiency.
It has support for DDR5 memory, which has a maximum speed of 5200 MT/s, and can be increased even further with overclocking. The ECC memory support also makes it suitable for mission-critical systems. The Ryzen 5 7400F comes with PCI-Express Gen 5 connectivity and hardware virtualization, improving virtual machine performanceThe computer chip does not possess integrated graphics so a separate card will be used.
A Wraith Stealth cooler also comes in the box with this processor. Instructions such as AVX, AVX2 and AVX-512 are there to enhance computing applications..
